This website gathers together audiovisual and written criticism related to Indy Vinyl, a research project by Ian Garwood investigating the presence of records in American Independent Cinema, 1987 to 2018. The project is conceived as an attempt to produce a research output equivalent to an academic monograph, but incorporating video-based forms of criticism that have been popularised through online film culture (e.g. the supercut, the explanatory video essay, and the bite-sized audiovisual artefacts that are circulated via social media).
